About Us: About the Founder

Candace Gray is the owner and operator of an independent consulting practice, Gray Consulting Group. Ms. Gray founded the practice in 2003, after many years of perfecting her professional skills in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Through Gray Consulting Group, Ms. Gray provides non-profit management expertise in areas such as strategic planning, fundraising, partnership development and program development.

For nearly a decade, Ms. Gray served as senior program manager for the Foundation for Community Empowerment (FCE). As the first employee of the newly formed organization, she was instrumental in defining the organization's strategic direction and developing key relationships that were critical to the organization's success. Her broad responsibilities ranged from neighborhood leadership development and research of national best practices to identifying relevant issues related to affordable housing, education and faith-based initiatives.

Prior to joining FCE, Ms. Gray worked in the field of accounting, holding positions with Pepsico Food Systems and Coopers & Lybrand Accounting Firm. She is a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant with experience in audit and financial statement preparation as well as internal control assessment. She credits her background in accounting with giving her professionalism, a strong work ethic and a keen attention to detail.

Ms. Gray received her Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of North Texas in 1990. Determined to enhance her communication and leadership skills, she earned a Master's degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in December 2000.

Active in numerous church and community affairs, she completed Leadership Dallas in 1999 and currently serves on the board of the Faith and Philanthropy Institute. Other activities have included teaching youth and singles groups, participating in international mission trips and serving as co-chair of the St. Philips School and Community Center fundraiser featuring Magic Johnson. In her leisure time she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family.
